Paper Plus Group is Aotearoa’s largest book and stationery retailer, with almost 100 stores and 800 people from Kerikeri to Invercargill. The network is 100% locally owned, and stores are operated by franchisees servicing communities in both city and provincial centres.
After more than 10 years with their previous print provider and in need of an upgrade to its print technology, Paper Plus made the switch to Brother Managed Print Services.
The size, spread and structure of Paper Plus Group meant they required a bespoke solution that catered to each store and franchise owner's unique needs, including group marketing materials, internal documents, and quality paper and photo printing for customers. And for the support office, speedy multifunction devices - all to be rolled out without disrupting day-to-day business.
Exceptional local service around the country, contract flexibility for a constantly moving business, and seamless integration into an existing print monitoring and reporting tool were also required.
After thoroughly assessing the needs of Paper Plus Group, Brother supplied a tailored selection of modern, cost-effective Konica Minolta bizhub A3 copiers.
Because Paper Plus Group opted for an inclusive Managed Print Service (MPS), it means everything from leasing to maintenance, toner delivery to recycling, is all part of the package.
Brother contracted with individual Paper Plus stores to ensure their specific printing needs were met. A bespoke contract gave each store the freedom to customise their range of devices, which also reduced the burden on head office staff.
The contract included added flexibility, with the option to cater for new store openings or closures. It is a leading example of Brother’s ability to deliver on very specific user needs within a centralised service.
“Brother sold us the dream and delivered on it. We ran a fair Request for Proposal (RFP) process, so we got to see many options from different providers, but Brother really impressed us with their proposal, and they have done exactly what they said they would and achieved significant savings for us."
- Mark Greaves, Paper Plus New Zealand Digital & Supply Chain Director
"We have felt like a Brother partner from the get-go. The availability of their team has been fantastic - when tackling minor issues, I always know that I can give the team a call, there’s no waiting on the line and speaking to a new person who doesn’t understand our business."
"The transition to Brother was the smoothest rollout I've ever experienced. It was extremely well managed, even down to Brother liaising with the prior partner to return the old machines. Easy, quick, seamless - they have truly gone above and beyond at every step.”
