Print and scan issues caused by latest Windows 10 update
A recent Windows update has caused an issue with how the Windows operating system interacts with printers. Microsoft released a patch for this issue on 16 June 2020. This patch needs to be manually downloaded by those who are experiencing problems printing.
To manually download the patch:
Step 1: please visit the Microsoft support website page applicable to your version of Windows. To find which version of Windows you are running, please click on your Windows start panel, and either click the search icon and/or type 'Winver' and hit enter. This will bring up a box which states the Windows version your computer is running.

Step 2: Scroll down to the “how to get this update” section. Click on the “Microsoft Update Catalog” link to get the standalone package for the update.
Step 3: This will take you to a list of updates that are specific to the type of operating system you use. Click “download” on the appropriate update.
Step 4: Double click on the download to activate the programme. The installer will start automatically.

If this patch does not resolve your issue, to continue printing you will need to uninstall this most recent Windows update.
To uninstall the update:
Step 1: Open the Windows Settings app, one way to do this is pressing Win + i (the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter 'i').
Step 2: Navigate to "Update and Security", Click "Pause update for 7 days", then click "View Update History" next click "Uninstall Updates".
Step 3: Select the most recent Windows update (there should be a column showing the install date) and/or the one showing "KB4560960" or "KB4557957" and choose to uninstall.
Step 4: Wait for the uninstall to complete and then restart the computer.
