Microsoft is improving the security of its email services (Exchange Online) by gradually removing older sign-in methods (known as Basic Authentication).​ Because of this change, some email features on your Brother device may stop working or show sign-in errors if they are using these older settings.

This can affect:​

• Scan to Email Server ​

• Internet Fax ​

• Email Reports ​

• Email Notifications ​

What's changing?

Older username and password sign-ins are being replaced with a more secure method called Modern Authentication (OAuth 2.0).

What you need to do:

To continue using these features with Microsoft Exchange Online, your Brother device must support Modern Authentication (OAuth 2.0).​

If your model supports this, you will need to:​

• Update your machine’s firmware to a version that supports OAuth 2.0 ​

• Configure the OAuth 2.0 authentication settings on your device​
