2.  About the Service

2.1 The Brother vermicomposting service (Service) is an environmental initiative that allows Eligible Customers to dispose of Compostable Materials in an environmentally responsible way. Compostable Materials are returned to, and processed by, Brother and supplied to a third-party worm farm for composting.

3.  Eligibility

3.1 The Service is available to any:

  1. current MPS Customer; and
  2. any other customer approved by Brother in its sole discretion to participate in the Service (Approved Customer), (each an Eligible Customer).

4. Participation and Costs

4.1  MPS Customers may participate by returning the filled collection box (supplied as part of their MPS agreement) to Brother.

4.2  Approved Customers may participate by purchasing a collection box from an Authorised Brother Reseller, and returning it to Brother when filled.

4.3  Customers are responsible for all shipping or courier costs associated with sending their collection box to Brother.

5.  Proper Use of Collection Boxes

5.1 Eligible Customers must only use the collection box for Compostable Materials.

5.2 No general waste or other materials should be placed in the collection box.

5.3 Brother reserves the right to charge an Eligible Customer for the cost of any sorting and/or disposal if the Compostable Material is returned contaminated.

6. Service Process

6.1 Once received, Brother will collate, compress, and send the Compostable Material to a worm farm facility for vermicomposting (conversion into compost by worms).

7. Duration and Termination

7.1 Brother may suspend or terminate participation in the Service if:

  1. contaminated Compostable Materials are repeatedly returned to Brother;
  2. the relevant Eligible Customer ceases to be an MPS Customer; or
  3. the Service is modified, suspended, or discontinued by Brother with a minimum of 3 months’ notice.

8. Environmental Responsibility

8.1 Brother will endeavour to ensure that all Compostable Materials collected through the Service are managed responsibly. While every effort is made to ensure positive environmental outcomes, Brother does not guarantee specific results or certifications from the composting process.

9. Liability

9.1 Participation in the Service is voluntary and at an Eligible Customer’s own risk. Brother accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or cost arising from the handling, storage, or transport of Compostable Materials.

10. Marketing and Publicity

10.1 Brother may wish to reference participating Eligible Customers in sustainability reports or promotional materials. This will only occur with the relevant Eligible Customer’s prior written consent.

11.  General Conditions

11.1 Brother reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

11.2 By clicking the “Request a Box” button or otherwise participating in the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
