Features such as the maximum speed limitation make this a perfect machine for beginners, but with a powerful motor, 80 different stitches, and needle up/down positioning, this machine is designed to grow with the skills and confidence of the user. It is suitable for sewing denim (it can sew up to 8 layers of denim!*), knits, and various woven fabrics. The FS80x's rugged design allows Brother to reduce its protective packaging, which is better for the environment.

The FS80x is an upgrade to the FS60x, and comes with the following extras: twin needle, organ needle #14 included, extra spool pin, eyelet punch, finger guard, and a non-stick foot for sewing pleather and similar fabrics that grab with a regular foot.
